Remote Monitoring - M2M Globalware™

Data Technology Services, Inc. is pleased to announce its new software product, “M2M Globalware.”  M2M Globalware allows a user to access a particular device (such as a well head controller, water or utility meter, HVAC controller, tank monitor, etc.) via the Internet.  M2M Globalware is a software application that "talks to" the device and allows for real-time operation and monitoring of the device, such as turning the device on or off, checking that the device is functioning properly, and obtaining data from the device.  These tasks can be performed from any computer with an Internet connection. 

M2M Globalware is very well suited for devices that are located in remote areas or for companies with vast quantities of devices spread throughout large areas.  Oftentimes, companies must hire personnel to travel to each device to operate the device, check the status of the device, and gather data from the device.  Personnel shortages, weather-related problems, and high travel expenses are just a few of the problems that may affect a company’s ability to travel to each remote device in a timely manner.  M2M Globalware solves these problems by enabling a user to access the device at any time, from any location using a computer with an Internet connection.

M2M Approach

The M2M Globalware™ approach has many advantages over “traditional” remote device controllers. Traditional solutions (1) usually require software to be purchased and then deployed, maintained, and upgraded on local workstations or laptop computers; (2) data logging, device monitoring, or system control is limited to those individuals with access to the appropriate workstation or laptop; and, (3) data is not readily distributed or maintained with these isolated machines and end users often need additional copies of the software for contingencies and for distribution of collected data.

M2M Globalware™ is web-based, so there is no software to purchase, no software upgrades or updates, and no need to have end users keeping track of software versions or installing updates to manage their remote devices. All authorized users can access their M2M Globalware™ account from any machine connected to the Internet rather than from a single fixed workstation or laptop.

As we continue to expand our M2M Globalware product, we are looking for partners who can provide the hardware (device) while we provide the software (M2M Globalware) so that together we can offer a complete solution to companies that utilize these devices.  Manufacturers of devices such as meters or controllers for water, gas, heating, air-conditioning, oil & gas, irrigation, and environmental systems are prime candidates for partnership.  By partnering with device manufacturers, we can (1) customize our software to fit a particular device’s specifications, (2) re-brand our software to reflect a manufacturer’s name, logo, color scheme, web site, etc., and (3) provide an additional revenue stream for device manufacturers.
